Hashtag Tracking is a quick and simple way of keeping track of the content you want to follow. See the performance of your campaigns, understand competitors or get inspired by fresh content being posted. Simply add a new hashtag and you’ll get info such as: Latest Medias, Likes, Comments, Post Density.
At the top left you have 5 main metrics, shown as numbers:
- Total Hashtags – The total number of hashtags tracked.
- Total Medias – The total amount of medias posted on your tracked hashtags: images, carousels & videos.
- Total Images – The total amount of images posted on your tracked hashtags.
- Total Videos – The total amount of videos posted on your tracked hashtags.
- Total Carousels – The total amount of carousels posted on your tracked hashtags.
There are 3 main sections:
- Hashtags
- Overview
- Content
The top right of the Hashtags section allows you to add a new hashtag by clicking the “Add hashtag” button. This takes you to the New Query screen. You can find more details on how to create a Query in its associated support article.
You can also search for hashtags within the platform by using the dedicated field underneath the “Add hashtag” button.
The Overview section shows data about:
- Hashtags Instagram medias – The latest pieces of content gathered based on selected hashtags
- Post history – The total number of media posted on your tracked hashtags (based on your date range and hashtag(s) selection).
- Hashtag repartition – The total number of media posted on your tracked hashtags by type (based on your date range and hashtag(s) selection).
- Repartition by media type – The total number of likes gathered by the media posted on the tracked hashtags based on the selected interval (choose the date range interval and the hashtag(s) from the top-right page filter).
- Likes received – The average number of likes gathered by the medias posted on the tracked hashtags based on the selected interval (choose the date range interval and the hashtag(s) from the top-right page filter).
- Average likes received – The total number of comments gathered by the medias posted on the tracked hashtags based on the selected interval (choose the date range interval and the hashtag(s) from the top-right page filter).
- Comments received – The average number of comments gathered by the medias posted on the tracked hashtags based on the selected interval (choose the date range interval and the hashtag(s) from the top-right page filter).
- Average comments received – The total number of likes gathered by the medias posted on your tracked hashtags (based on your date range and hashtag(s) selection)
- Likes history – The total number of likes gathered by the medias posted on your tracked hashtags (based on your date range and hashtag(s) selection).
- Comments history – The total number of comments gathered by the medias posted on your tracked hashtags (based on your date range and hashtag(s) selection)
- Hashtag likes – The total number of likes gathered by the medias posted on your tracked hashtags (based on your date range and hashtags(s) selection).
- Hashtag comments – The total number of comments gathered by the medias posted on your tracked hashtags (based on your date range and hashtags(s) selection).
- Medias posted – Total number of medias posted on the tracked hashtags based on the selected days interval (choose the date range interval and the hashtag(s) from the top-right page filter).
- Photos posted – Total number of photos posted on the tracked hashtags based on the selected days interval (choose the date range interval and the hashtag(s) from the top-right page filter).
- Videos posted – Total number of videos posted on the tracked hashtags based on the selected days interval (choose the date range interval and the hashtag(s) from the top-right page filter).
- Carousels posted – Total number of carousels posted on the tracked hashtags based on the selected days interval (choose the date range interval and the hashtag(s) from the top-right page filter).
- Post density – Daily – The total number of posts density on your tracked hashtags, by week days (based on your date range and hashtag(s) selection).
- Post density – Hourly – The total number of posts density on your tracked hashtags, based on a 24h schedule (based on your date range and hashtag(s) selection).
The Content section shows you all the content pieces from the selected hashtags. You see their stats (likes, comments), as well as posted date. You can also click on each of them to see the full post and the associated caption.
This section also provides a set of filters that are accessible in the top right. Click on the “Filters” button to see what hashtags are being shown and what date range is selected. Any change you make will take effect only if you click the “Apply filters” button. The trashcan icon next to the “Filters” button clears all filters.
